What is available for children?
At Holy Trinity, we know that children are not the church of tomorrow, they are our church today! We delight and celebrate every young life we encounter, and take very seriously our role as their community, to be a place and people for them to catch faith. Children are always welcome at every activity, worship, and gathering.
Nursery
If parents feel their children are a distraction to themselves or to others around, we provide a staffed nursery using a silent pager system to notify parents if they are needed. Our nursery is located off our worship space to the right, through the doorway just beyond the windowed wall (and behind the choir space).
Children's Sermon
Our Pastors invite all young people forward for a special, kid-friendly time of sharing and conversation. (Grown-ups are invited to listen in, too!)
Sunday School
During the academic school year, Sunday School is held during the worship service for children ages 4 and up. After the Children's Sermon, young people are dismissed to class for conversation, storytelling, and crafts, returning for Communion. Sunday School classrooms are located off the worship space to the left, directly across from the Nursery door.
Greeting after worship
All young people are invited to join the procession at the end of worship, to help greet everyone after the worship service.
Activity Table
In addition to the nursery and Sunday School, we have a special kid-sized table at the back of our worship space for drawing and coloring, allowing parents to allow their kids some activity, and still be able to participate in worship themselves.
Activity Bags
Our "Sonshine" bags are hanging on a special rack at the back of the worship space, for parents and kids to use during the worship service. They are filled with coloring books and other "quiet-time" activities. We ask that they be returned after the service, so we can refill them for another time! |
