It's that time of year again! Last fall, we tried something new by starting a supper club called Bread Breakers. Bread Breakers is a short-term supper club that meets in the fall and winter months, beginning in September. We formed 5 groups last year and the feedback was very positive. Here is what some of our members had to say about their Bread Breakers group:
"I so enjoyed getting to know people in a new way....just "hanging out", or seeing where the people in my group lived. We just relaxed and had fun getting to know one another better in our group. I look forward to doing this again in the fall." --Barb F.
"George and I were new members of Holy Trinity, and hoped to meet more members of the congregation. We were assigned to an awesome group, made new friends, met once a month or so, and it was all kept simple and easy: pot luck dinners, a meal after church, and a group meal in a restaurant, for example. We can't wait to join this year's group of Bread Breakers, and continue to reap the blessings of new friendships and monthly get-togethers." -Diane G.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our get-togethers with our Bread Breakers group. It was a warm, friendly, informal time to get to know some of our church family. We felt really connected with our group and look forward to starting up again with a new group in the fall." -Roland & Jayne K.
The purpose of Bread Breakers is to get to know each other better, and that means all of us: young, old, couples, singles, and families! It is not necessary to be a member of Holy Trinity to be a part of a group. Groups will start with about 7-8 people but may add a few more to allow for new interested members throughout the year. ALL are welcome to participate!
Individual groups decide where and how often they will meet. It is not necessary for each member of a group to host a meal, as it may not be feasible for them. Groups can decide if they want their meals to be pot-lucks, themed dinners, or hosted by a particular group member. Groups can meet for brunch, lunch or dinner, on weekends or weekdays. They can meet in homes, at church, at St. Paul's, or at restaurants! Again, your group can decide and have all the flexibility it needs!
Would you consider being part of a Bread Breakers group this year? Invitations will be going out later this month with reply cards. Our Bread Breakers pot-luck kick-off will be Friday, September 26th at 6:00pm at Holy Trinity. So save the date!!! You will find out who your Bread Breakers group will be at the kick-off . If you can't attend the kick-off, it is still possible to be assigned to a group. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to form more groups this year!
